巴哈創作六首法國組曲，不僅是用在巴哈家中的家庭音樂而且也是巴哈教授學生時作爲從創意曲至十二平均律鋼琴曲間的橋樑。彈奏組曲應該特别注意裝飾彈奏。必須要有分明且像說話似的運句，音之連與分必須有意義地加以程度上的區分，裝飾節奏藉著前置音、震音、滑音、廻音必須彈得細膩生動。
